Case IH

About Case IH

Few equipment brands carry as much weight in production agriculture as Case IH. Founded on the Illinois prairie and built into a global force over nearly two centuries, Case IH has earned its place on farms ranging from family operations to some of the largest commercial grain producers in the world. A brand of CNH Industrial, the company is headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, and immediately recognizable by its signature red livery – a color that has come to symbolize high-output harvesting performance across every major crop-growing region on earth. The current lineup spans tractors, combine harvesters, cotton pickers, self-propelled sprayers, and hay and forage equipment. On the technology side, Case IH has invested heavily in its AFS (Advanced Farming Systems) platform, which brings GPS guidance, field mapping, yield monitoring, and autonomous steering into a single integrated ecosystem. Equipment is sold in over 170 countries through a dealer and parts network built to support machines working far from the nearest city – reliability in remote conditions has always been a core part of the brand's identity.

Got Questions?

Our FAQ section covers everything from shipping and listing to buying with confidence.

Price depends heavily on what you're looking at. Entry-level utility tractors and hay equipment can be found from $20,000 upward, while a late-model Magnum tractor or Axial-Flow combine in good condition will typically land somewhere between $150,000 and $500,000 – with top-spec, low-hour examples pushing higher. Case IH tends to hold value well in the segments where it's strongest: large combines, high-horsepower row-crop tractors, and self-propelled sprayers all retain buyer interest well into their second decade of use.

Type the model name or series directly into the search bar, or start from the Case IH manufacturer page and filter by category.

JumboBee reflects real market activity – active listings and sold machines give you a live view of where prices are sitting across different Case IH categories and model years. Because the brand trades consistently on the platform, you'll generally find enough comparable listings to get a solid read on fair market value before you open a negotiation.

The Case side of the brand goes back to 1842, when Jerome Increase Case built his threshing machine business in Racine, Wisconsin. International Harvester, which contributed the IH half of the name, was established in 1902. The two came together as Case IH in 1985 when Tenneco acquired International Harvester's agricultural division. Today the brand operates under CNH Industrial and remains in full production, with new model generations releasing regularly across all major categories.

Case IH draws its engines from FPT Industrial, a powertrain specialist within the same CNH Industrial group. That relationship means the engines are engineered alongside the machines rather than adapted from a third-party platform – the result is tighter integration between power delivery, hydraulic demand, and transmission response. FPT engines are built to handle sustained heavy loads without sacrificing longevity, and current production meets both Tier 4 Final requirements in North America and Stage V standards in Europe.

The tractor lineup offers genuine flexibility here. Buyers can choose between Powershift for straightforward operation, CVXDrive continuously variable transmission for those who want stepless speed control across the full power range, and the APS Twin clutch system for operators who prefer a more direct mechanical feel. On the combine side, the Axial-Flow rotor system – which Case IH pioneered and has refined for decades – remains one of the most distinctive and widely respected threshing designs in the industry, particularly valued in tough, high-moisture harvesting conditions.

Case IH manages fuel consumption through its Auto Productivity Manager, which reads workload in real time and adjusts engine speed and hydraulic output accordingly – pulling back when the demand drops rather than running at a fixed rate regardless of conditions. In practice this makes a meaningful difference over a full day of field work. When buying used, service records and hour meter history tell you more than spec sheets – a well-maintained Case IH running on a sensible maintenance schedule will typically perform close to its original efficiency figures even with significant hours on the clock.
